Biography
Noor Ur Rehman. The "multi-tasking" visual artist. He is a fine-artist, textile & fashion Designer and a photographer. At times, he is a poet & musician too. He is a painter & a drawer who uses watercolors, oils, acrylics, colored pencils, graphite pencils, artist pens, crayons, markers, and a computer pen & tablet. He is a Designer of Textile & Fashion, graphic art, multi-media art and collage art. He is a design stylist of all things pretty. To try & distinguish his styles, he has opened a few online shops.
Noori realized he just had to be an artist when he grew up when he was 5-years-old. Since, he has dabbled in a whole bunch of art forms. From writing a verse to playing with brush strokes to sketching somebody's face to design a fabric to stylize an outfit to designing floor plans to decorating; and the list goes on. He has always needed to create art – whether using a pencil, pen, crayon, marker, camera, glue, glitter, or brush.
Introvert. Sensitive, emotional, optimistic can describe him best. Nature is his love, that's why he is very natural by nature and believes in naturalism, whether it is poetry, literature, music, or any kind of art. Actually Art is in his soul, each and everything which is connected to him or he observes, he always tries to findout an artistic aspect in it. He just love art, in all forms.
As a professional Textile Designer, he has started his career with Pakistan's well known Textile/Fashion icon named Gul Ahmed Textile Mills. Noori has not looked back since then, worked for Portia Fabrics (Karachi), Saleem Fabrics (Lahore), Gul Ahmed Textile Mills again and Mohammad Farooq Textile Mills. Portia Fabrics appointed him again as a Manager Design.
Then he connected to Lucky Textile Mills. Portia did not leave him and called him again after two years as a Manager Design and Creative Head. Nowadays he is working for Portia. He is also doing his own business and working as a freelance designer & Design consulatant.
As a painter and art historian, he injects passion and emotion into his designs, following the fabrics texture and shape, colors and softness. His silhouettes are very sophisticated and natural, yet artistic and edgy. He creates unusual designs that reflect the tastes of his clients. He approaches everyday challenges, investigates and tackle each obstacle through a thorough design process and present a solution that results in a smoother and more pleasant experience for users. His personal approach is eclectic. A natural chameleon, He customizes and tweaks his process according to each project to ensure a fresh and thoughtful outcome for each clients needs. His personal design perspective exercises the belief that in order to deliver new and fresh products, it is his responsibility as the designer to maintain an open mind in inspiration, thinking and optimism.
Currently, He licensed his artworks through several stock agencies and selling items featuring his artworks, paintings and designs, and his natural product arts & crafts at his online shops.
